In the movie Good Will Hunting, a pivotal scene shows the main character Will, a disadvantaged young janitor, coming to the aid of a friend. They were enjoying a boys night out in a local Boston bar when an obnoxious Harvard student challenged Will’s friend to debate on American History. The student’s lame attempt to impress a girl and humiliate someone who he believes is beneath his station in life backfires when the brilliant and self-taught Will displays his intellectual superiority and vast reading knowledge. Will exposes the Harvard student’s lack of integrity and original thought as he mentally wrestles his opponent into submission. He closed with, “One day you will realize that you dropped $150 grand for an education you could have gotten for $1.50 in late charges from your local library.”
It was a brilliant way to show that true knowledge and mastery of a subject can be attained by anyone with the desire to learn. This is why I am excited to be partnering with Wade Myers and Venture Academy. Our goal is to provide an Ivy League caliber program at affordable prices for those who have the same desire to grow and learn. Wade and I are both big fans of higher education and understand the value it brings so we are in no way trying to minimize that. In fact, Wade is a graduate of Harvard Business School and I am currently a participant in the Executive Program and believe it is well worth the time and investment.
Venture Academy is meant for both someone starting a new business venture and those business leaders mid-way in their career who do not have time or resources to go back to school to get a formalized degree but would like to study specific business disciplines. We believe this program will teach key principles with real world examples using Harvard case studies and providing the participant with a host of mentors so they can implement this knowledge in their current operation to have immediate impact.
Wade Myers is an accomplished business leader who began his career as an Army Ranger being awarded the Bronze star during his service in the first Gulf War. He was later a graduate of Harvard Business School finishing at the top of his class as a Baker Scholar. Upon graduating, he worked at the prestigious Boston Consulting Group and later became a venture capitalist starting over 20 companies and being the CEO of half of those. He brings all this real world knowledge and expertise into the classroom with the Venture Academy.
If you are about to take the leap by starting your own business or are currently a leader within a business I encourage you to check this out. Even if you have a formal business education like an MBA, the real world examples and case studies will be the perfect capstone for you and I promise you will find tremendous value. One recent program finisher said “I learned more during this program than I did during my MBA.” To learn more see our press release “Crown Launches the Future of Innovative and Affordable Online Business Education and Mentoring.” on The Wall Street Journal Market Watch.
Take the leap! I guarantee you will find tremendous value in Venture Academy program. I am so confident that you will say this is was a great investment for you and your business that if you enroll and finish the program and feel this program was not helpful, I will give you a full refund!
